FAN54005 结合了高度集成的开关模式充电器,可最大程度缩短使用 USB 电源的单锂离子电池充电时间,还结合了一个升压稳压器以便从电池为 USB 外围设备供电。充电参数和运行模式可通过 I2C 接口进行编程,该接口运行速度可达 3.4 Mbps。该充电器和升压稳压器电路会在 3 MHz 下进行切换,最大程度减小了外部无源组件的尺寸。FAN54005 以三个阶段提供电池充电:条件调节,恒定电流和恒定电压。为了确保 USB 合规性并最大程度减少充电时间,输入电流限值可由主处理器通过 I2C 接口进行更改。充电端接由可编程最低电流水平确定。带重置控制的安全计时器提供了 I2C 主机的安全备份。充电状态通过 I2C 端口报告给主机。该集成电路 (IC) 会在电池降至内部阈值以下时自动重启充电周期。如果去除了输入源,该集成电路则进入高阻抗模式,防止从电池到输入的泄漏。当片温度达到 120°C 时充电电流将降低,保护器件和 PCB 免受损坏。FAN54005 还可以根据系统命令作为升压稳压器运行。该升压稳压器包括了一个软启动,可限制电池的涌入电流,并与电池充电使用相同的外部组件。
