Generation 4+ of our intelligent LED drivers is targeting Front lighting LED driver modules for legacy Domain Architecture as well as the emerging Zonal Architecture for Software Defined Vehicles (SDV) with 10Base-T1S.

NCV78902 - a two-phase booster provides complete solution for automotive front lighting applications when paired with buck LED driver (current source). Designed for high current LEDs in front lighting application like low beam, high beam, turn indicator and more. Two devices can be combined and operate together as a multi-phase booster. This allows to further optimize the filtering effect and allow cost effective dimensioning.

The device enables Current sensing on Shunt Resistor or MOSFETs' RDSon, allows for Stand-alone or Limp home modes, incorporates built-in Programmable Soft-Start and especially brings superior stability and response time even with small output capacitance. The device is designed to operate at frequencies up to 2 MHz to allow for small inductor sizes and at the same time to keep EMC under control.

The NCV78902 can be operated in SEPIC mode - Output voltage can be lower than input voltage (car battery).

Thanks to the SPI programmability, one single hardware configuration can support various application platforms.
