USB standards allow for power ratings up to 240W and voltages up to 48V, greatly extending the application area of USB for power supplies and for battery chargers.

We will review how USB loads communicate with USB power supplies to set up the voltage and current levels. Solutions using onsemi’s USB product family will be presented.
