Originally the Belgian branch of Alcatel Microelectronics, the Brno Design Center was acquired in 2008 through AMI Semiconductor. Since then, On Semiconductor has further developed its activities in the development of digital-analog circuits, mainly for the automotive industry.

Bucharest Design Center was founded in 2003 as Catalyst Semiconductor Romania SRL, a subsidiary of Catalyst Semiconductor Inc. of Santa Clara, California. Bucharest design center joined ON Semiconductor as part of the Catalyst acquisition in October 2008. ON Semiconductor Romania covers design, layout, test development, applications, project management and product marketing for analog, mixed-signal and non-volatile memory ICs.

The Cork Design Center was established in 2004 as part of SensL Technologies Ltd. ON Semiconductor obtained the design center in 2018 through the acquisition of SensL.
